Registration Information
Overview:
Metro Community Church has partnered with Compassion International to bring the truth of God’s word and the love of Jesus Christ to individuals in the San Salvador area. Many people connected to Metro sponsor impoverished children in El Salvador.
This trip offers the unique opportunity of visiting sponsored children, while serving our partner church and the whole community. During this trip, we may be painting, cleaning, teaching, training, working throughout the community, etc. Whatever is needed! Interaction, encouragement, and support for all people in the 807 project and the surrounding area are our goals.
Individuals signing up will be put on a waiting list until approval for this trip. Metro Community Church will be using a multi-tiered system for approval.
-Child sponsors who have never gone on a previous trip
-Child Sponsors who haven’t gone on a recent trip
-Non-sponsors who have never gone on a trip.
**Metro Community Church reserves the right to make further decisions based on team dynamics and other considerations.**
Requirements:
-Metro Community Church and Compassion registration.
-First Step class and background check is required.
-Metro Community Church reserves the right to refuse participation of any person for any reason which may affect the operation of the trip or the rights and enjoyment of the other trip members.
-Age Limits: Ages 13-15 must travel with parent 1:1 ratio. 16-17 must travel with parent or approved guardian for this trip.
-Physical/Health Requirements: There may be extended periods of walking. Dietary and climate changes may be experienced, along with the lack of sleep at times. Please be considerate of these factors as you evaluate your personal readiness for such conditions. Trip candidates must be in good physical/mental health.
-Conduct: There will be no alcohol, tobacco or cannabis consumption or purchase while on this trip. Foul or abusive language is not permitted.
-Sign Up and Cost: Online reservations start September 29th. The total cost is $2500. This includes airfare, shared lodging, insurance, transportation, fun day expenses, supplies, and meals.
-A deposit of $300 is required upon registration. The deposit is non-refundable after December 13th. Final payment is due by February 21st.
-Passports are required and need to be applied for asap. Passports must be valid through 6-months after the trip ends.
-Immunizations: None required. Check with your physician for medical advice.
